Many wedding venues in BC tend to gravitate towards the outdoors, forests, and things representative of the Pacific Northwest.  Mountains, trees and water are definitely things that come to mind when you think about British Columbia. But there are some gems in this province for couples looking for some Old World charm.

If you have been following our journey as wedding planners in Vancouver and our love for destination weddings, you will know we love European architecture and its aesthetic. Here are our top 5 venues in BC for couples looking for a European escape within British Columbia.

Top 5 Wedding Venues in BC

1. Hatley Castle

It’s rare to hear a wedding venue in BC with the word castle in its name.  With castles, we usually think of England, Scotland and France and Hatley Castle definitely has the grandeur of one.  If you are looking for a castle to hold your wedding, you will probably love the gardens and different areas Hatley Castle has to offer.

*Unforuntately, this beautiful venue is closed for weddings. Please enjoy the memories through these lovely photos and you can still visit the winery.

Heading to the Okanangan area, this wedding venue is definitely a popular choice if you would like to have your wedding at a winery.  Even though the main building is quite modern, the views of the lake, will immediately remind you of being on a Mediterranean island.  If you want a mix of modern and the feeling of an European travel ambience, this venue is a great choice.

Heading to a different area in Victoria, Villa Eyrie is a great choice for intimate weddings. The villa at the top of the mountain reminds us of villas in Italy and the main restaurant has beautiful scenery of the water and mountains with traces of Switzerland.
