Honour & Blessing Events

Honour and Blessing Events was dreamed of and orchestrated by two sisters, with the belief that events and weddings should be elegant, breathtaking, and remarkable. As event and wedding planners, we believe that organization is just as important as design, trends can complement traditions - and the journey is as meaningful as the day itself.

Santa Barbara Private Estate Wedding

  /
October 22, 2021

With intimate and smaller venues becoming more popular in the last little while, the type of venues that couples are looking for is also different. A few months ago, we had the opportunity to create a beautiful private estate wedding in Santa Barbara at Santa Barbara House. It isn’t the typical wedding venue that engaged couples might be looking for, but it was the perfect place for an intimate and fun celebration.

The Design

We designed this wedding with the idea of creating a Garden Party; to create a day filled with the joy of celebration. Bright and cheerful colours to create that fun atmosphere, plenty of intricate details throughout, all tied together with flowers as the focus.

As it is a garden party, we wanted to include as many floral details in fun ways as possible. Along with the delicate and romantic stationery, we created translucent candies topped with dried edible flower petals. We also included floral infused bath oils and other unique floral items for the guest gifts.

Wedding Day

For the getting ready dress, a simple hand draped gown that is beautifully feminine and delicate was chosen. It plays into the modern and clean style that is part of the overall wedding design. In contrast, the ceremony dress is a dreamy fairytale-like dress with endless layers of tulle and 3D floral embroidery scattered throughout the dress. Finally, rounding it out is a form fitting reception dress that is perfect to end the night off.

For the bride, two different kinds of bouquets were created for the day. A smaller one with bright colours and a bigger bouquet with plenty of creamy colours and textures. With a stunning floral arch as the ceremony backdrop and the getaway car full of flowers, this is indeed a wedding focused on the beauty of flowers and celebration.

Reception Details

We wanted something more unique for the cake, so we went with a square cake that has plenty of florals pipped at the top in soft colours. We also had mini cakes that were also topped with different varieties of flowers.
